CHRISTMAS TEXAS SCRAMBLE RULES

CHRISTMAS TEXAS SCRAMBLE RULES

The Christmas Texas Scramble competition is a team event and has different rules that are explained below.

TEAMS

Each team will consist of three of four players depending on how many players enter the competition.

HANDICAPS

There are no handicaps in the Christmas Texas Scramble.

In the 2016 Christmas Texas Scramble we had two players who had low handicaps who haven't been playing regularly in the society & that made their team be at a disadvantage in the competition.

As we draw one low handicap player, two middle handicap players & one high handicap player in the draw, we will play the 2017 Chrismntas Texas Scramble with no handicaps.

TEE SHOTS

All players in the team tee off on all holes.

The nominated team captain then selects the tee shot to be used and marks the ball position with a tee peg. The other players then retrieve their balls to the chosen tee shot.

A minimum of 3 tee shots per player must be used (minimum of 4 tee shots for teams of three). This includes Par 3’s.

All players then play within 6 inches of the tee peg (not nearer the hole) in any order.

NOTE: BALL MAY BE PLACED ON FAIRWAY BUT MUST DROPPED FROM ANY OTHER AREA OFF THE FAIRWAY OR IN A BUNKER.

The above method of play is followed until the green is reached.

PUTTING

On the green the same method applies. The ball chosen is marked and all players putt from that spot in any order.

Each player marks the ball after putting. Play continues from each chosen position until ball is holed.

NOTE: IF A PLAYER PUTTS AND MISSES BUT THEN TAPS THE BALL INTO THE HOLE THAT SCORE COUNTS.

SCORING

The gross score for each hole is marked down in the marker's score column.

The scorecard columns A, B, C & D will be assigned to the team players, put a tick on each hole to signify which player's tee shot was taken. Each player must have three tee shots selected.

If there is a tie, we will count back the gross score on the last nine holes. If that is a tie then we count back the last six, three, two & one hole until we have a winning group.
